Weekly Recap

It seems like a couple weeks since I did these. My morning bus wait has been odd. That is when I normally write.

All last week was odd. Monday I was on training. Writing training. Maybe the blog will be more engaging now. Apparently I write too much in passive voice.

Then Tuesday I missed training. I stayed home instead. Kidney stones woke me up at 3 am. I just had discomfort not pain. 7 am I took painkillers and water. The painkillers helped bit the water increases the pain. I dosed myself with more water at 8, 9 and 10. 10:30 until 11:30 were the worst bits. There was real pain then. I took more pain killers at 11. Right around 11:30 everything started to get better. By noon I was comfortable.

Of course at 10 am, the painter arrived to paint my washroom and the maids to clean my suite. I had lots of company, to whom I was very polite, during the worst of the pain.

Wednesday I received good news at work. However I’m likely about 3 weeks from being able to publicize it. But yay!

I should mention at this point that I’m going through comics withdrawal. Two weeks into my brother’s travels. It is very hard.

Wednesday night, Thursday night and Friday night, Mom popped over. She is having laundry woes. And we brought in a painter to estimate fixing my walls. Ironically made holes in a new room after the estimate on Thursday.

Gaming on Friday is still going well. I’m frustrated with my ability to work in action. But folks seem to be enjoying it. I faked a game using just backstory on Friday. There were no new plot elements except one. That seemed to work out ok.

I drove to the mall Saturday and caught Spider-Man. It was a mess of a movie. The first worked largely due to the chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. They screwed that up this time. Dane Dehaan as Harry Osborn was the only effective bit. But even that was messed up at the end.

I also bought a Rubik’s Cube. We had one in the 80s. But I never learned to solve it. I could never track the interactions of the moves.

Well I’ve been working on it now. I can solve it in 5 minutes and 15 seconds. But that was a fluke. I still haven’t memorized how to do the end. The one time I timed myself, the cube just solved itself when I should have had a few sequences left.

But I think I can get sub-5 minute by tomorrow.

Which brings us to today.

Take care. I’d you are travelling, have fun!
